Fun in the Snow

We recently had a snow storm here in Kernersville. I think there must have been around 6 inches! Everything was shut down. The boys got to use their snow clothes and our inflatable snow sled (thanks Aunt Kathleen!). There is a house for sale (the 'giant's house') that has a great hill/backyard for sledding. It was getting pretty worn out by the time this picture was taken. The boys thought it was great fun!

Here is the little snowman Andrew and I managed to craft. Andrew was very upset that I used leaves for the eyes. "Those not eyes! They leaves!" as he tried to scrape them out. Poor little blind snowman.

We got to take Daddy with us the the 'new zoo' (Greensboro Natural Science Center). That was really fun in the snow! Here's Daddy as the praying mantis and Aden as the hungry ant.

Charlie is just growing up right before our eyes. He now has 2 bottom teeth and is a happy hungry boy.

Aden aka Mr. Inquisitive- couldn't leave this Christmas package from Grandma alone. Here he is using a flashlight to peek into the hole he made. Oh how hard to wait until Christmas morning!!

We have had a pretty good Christmas day. Pretty crazy and messy, but still fun. I will post some more Christmas pictures when we get back from Michigan! Merry Christmas all!

Christmas Card Preview

This year when Paul put up our tree and the boys and I were to decorate it. Well, the only decoration I could find was a roll of tinsel in the box with the tree. So we put it on the tree with the lights. Aden and Andrew found some red crepe paper so we put that on the tree. Then Andrew found a balloon we had been playing with and put that in the tree. So we decorated our tree this year with balloons. And we think it's great. A fun new tradition I hope. And there are also some random Blue ornaments on there too. I want to find the box with the other decorations though. There are some new 'classics' in there I wish we had on the tree. Oh well, one of these days I will live in one place...

The balloon tree in it's first edition.

Chucklin' Charlie.

He digs the W the P crowd.

Just before the drool took over the front of his shirt

I could not get a consensus on footwear, they had already been dressed in their new shoes 3 hours and somewhere they got taken off.

My favorite

We have been getting ready for a very exciting Christmas! The boys are so fun and enjoying all the anticipation. We have sent Santa a letter, gotten a response, visited Santa, put up our tree, put up our Nativity scene (Thanks Aunt Michell!) and taken some pictures for our Christmas card.

What do you think? I think they look great in front of our Andrew's all-original idea balloon Christmas tree. Also about Aden's forehead; he does have a small scratch on his forehead. The band-aid was all his doing. He found it, opened it and put it on his boo-boo all by himself. Pretty proud of himself on that count. And I think it was a world-record for continuous band-aid wearing in our house. Almost 36 hours! Good job, Aden!

Aden is all about Santa Claus!

I'm not sure what Charlie is thinking. Maybe 'what is it?'

This is the only picture I could get of Andrew while we were at 'Breakfast with Santa'.
He did not sit on Santa's lap. ;-P

Charlie is trying so hard to catch up with the boys. He is a great babbler and 'says' mamama and dadadada, but blowing raspberries is his favorite pastime. I think we really might be getting close to a tooth. I think 6 months old is a fine time to get a tooth. Plus he has actually been cranky lately.

Trying to post more and more often. Inspired by my BFF Lisa to create a memory book from the blog postings! You can thank her if you are reading this in a book!

Charlie Barley

Charlie is growing up so fast! He is finally rolling over, and trying to get somewhere, somehow. I am content with him staying where I put him. I will just get the twins consistently out of mess-making and he is going to start up! I can't wait.

Charlie on Grandma- She better keep eating her Wheaties!

GROSS ALERT!

For those that can stand a little gore I am including a picture of my MRSA wound. This is 8 days after picking on an ingrown hair. The sore is about the size of a quarter. I am all better after 9 days of IV Vancomycin and 6 more days of Bactrim.

I am now an official germophobe!

Happy Halloween!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle does a HII YAAH! kick.

Spider-Man spins a web.

Shocked by the gruesome scene!

... of the crazy-pumpkin-eating Jack!

Charlie was our fuzzy baby ducky. Aden is helping him sit up.

We have been up to more than just Halloweening...

Charlie has his first cereal. Yummy!

Andrew tries to fit in his old chair.

Life in North Carolina

We are liking NC and the boys are in preschool 3 days a week. Andrew got sent to the office today for biting. That's awesome *sarcasm* I loved getting that call. Oh well, I knew it was just a matter of time. I just figured it would be his brother that he bit. So I am the mom of 'the biter'. I tell you the other kids should give him some room- he has the meanest little 'play' face and he is big (45 lbs- about 42"). One guy asked them how they liked Kindergarten- the kids were blank, they had no idea what he was saying. Most mornings Andrew squawks that he doesn't want to go to school, then we get there and he just has a ball. He has kind of gotten a sense of humor as well- tonight he cried for 'shark'pjs, which I didn't have. Then when he got out of the tub, he says "Mom, I's just joking, I like football pajamas!" just as happy as can be. I had to laugh. (I had just 'been jokin' him' a few hours earlier.) It's so fun to teach them. Andrew is pretty proficient with the mouse touchpad on Mom's computer and plays pbskids games. I am amazed at what he can already do. Aden doesn't get the mouse yet- and doesn't seem to care too much yet. He is my adventurer guy. We went to the Imagination Movers concert and he totally loved every minute of it. Andrew just sat back and watched, until the last 10 minutes- then he got his groove. Anything out of the ordinary is good for Aden, and he is usually more than happy to give something new a try. He is also the chief disassembler and overall mess-maker. He took the baby powder a few days ago and was running around the house dumping it out. I didn't even realize he was doing this as I was changing Charlie is our bedroom. I came out and yelled at him, caught him and took away the powder. He says, "I was making a trail, Mommy!" Yeah, no sh!t. All around the house. Awesome. I think there are still some traces of that fiasco. The best part about that was the floor wasn't sticky anymore. *eyeroll*. So I live in a state of chaos and mess- and I didn't even go into the poop stories- will potty training ever end?!

And I am so completely blessed- especially with Charlie- the chubbiest, toadiest, cutest, sweetest, hungry little 20 lb 4 month old baby in the world.

Save a few gas episodes, this one is not a cranker. He merrily goes with the flow- and flashes me a grin when I get a chance to talk to him. He is learning to blow bubbles and raspberries for me. He sits up for approximately .2 seconds and promptly falls over; albeit very slowly.

I have a list as long as my arm about what needs to get done and it never seems to get shorter no matter how hard I work at it. I am finding some time for me- a few girls' nights out, some garage saling, and even some shopping (thanks to my recently visiting sister).

Andrew and Jay at the Greensboro Children's Museum. Probably the boys' favorite place.

Andrew, Jacob, Jay and Aden at the state capitol in Raleigh. It was cold and rainy.

Captain Jay- he makes one good looking pilot! Maybe cousin Jeff can give him some lessons!

Jacob and Aden in the glider.

Paul has been working hard and getting some OT which makes for longer days for Mom, but prettier paychecks. I am proud of him, he is a great dad and the master of bedtime. And he cooks a mean steak on the grill too.

Paul before the Imagination Movers show.
Well, maybe more pictures after Halloween. That is if everyone in good and listens to Momma!

Happy 3rd Birthday!!!

Happy Birthday Aden and Andrew! 3 years old! I can hardly believe it! Here are the boys at school getting the birthday treatment and clearly loving it.

It's great to have a brother to help you with that last stubborn candle.

Here are the 4 'A's posing incognito on the stairs. Andrew, Alex, Abbi, and Aden.

Oy, I am going to have to pay to go get a decent family picture!

Charlie

I spy with my little eye!

It was so fun getting to have 3 birthday parties this year, but we really missed getting to see our Oklahoma/Kansas family and friends. The boys had a great time with Nanny and Alex and Abbi. Thanks Nanny for making it happen! We love you!

Visit from Michiganders!

Over the Labor Day weekend we were lucky enough to have Nana, Sarah, Ian and Aunt Kathleen come visit us. It was quick trip, but we had a great time!

Sarah- sitting at the kids' table.

Nana and Charlie.

Aunt Kathleen giving Charlie a tummy rub.

Aden and Ian playing Play-Doh.
Thanks for coming out to visit. It is so nice to be able to spend time with our family.
First day of preschool.
Somewhere along the line we got enrolled in preschool and are having a pretty good time.
Time just seems to fly by so quickly!
