Carrot Goatees and Counting Cheerios

Greetings from Gabli-land. Andrew and Aden continue to entertain us with their various antics. They are starting to eat some Cheerios by themselves and can sit alone for short periods of time. Those darn teeth are still nowhere to be seen. At their six-month check-up Aden weighed in at 16 lbs 4 oz and Andrew at 18 lbs 4 oz. They are both pretty long beans but Andrew is almost an inch longer at 29 1/2".

Andrew rolled over onto Aden and decided he made a pretty good cushion.

He was really enjoying his bubba recliner. I'm not so sure about Aden.

While we were in Oklahoma we picked up the boys' cedar chests that Grandma and Grandpa Newton had made for them. Here is Aden modeling his.

Again we really had fun in Oklahoma. It was great getting to see Uncle Robert, Michael and Aunt Judy in Kingfisher (I can't believe I didn't get any pictures!).

Whew! We also got to see Troy, Tina, Michael, Brandon and Keira. And thanks to Chase for picking up Paul at the airport. So good to see you all- we'll be back in July!

Roadtrippers

Well, we are back in Marysville and mostly recovered from our roadtrip to OK. We covered 7 states and 2071 miles in under 30 hours- both ways! Incredible, methinks! Aden and Andrew were excellent travellers and they are practicing their driving so they can help drive the next trip.

Aden looks like a real gear-jammer, and Andrew has the 'look Ma, no hands!' thing down already! Thanks to Uncle Randall we didn't have to turn the wheel over to the speedster or the mouth-driver.

A Rosy Picture

I think the boys had their first 'brat' attack today. It all started when I showed them this rose. (Thanks for the flowers, Paul (-:)

They look so sweet with it in the pictures. And it was so cute- they smelled it (sort of), tore off petals and leaves, tried to eat it, and screamed bloody murder when I took it away. And all smiles and sweet when I gave it back. Great. I gave it back. See, I am teaching them to whine and squawk already!

Although he looks like he has black eyes, they are not. He just woke up.

They are such happy little guys. They are now sturdy enough for hanging upside down (Andrew loves it), and getting the fast version of rock-a-bye baby. They can scooch around a little bit and are champion toy-grabbers. They love their soft books and anything they can chew. I swear those teeth are in there. I am sure I see little bits of white in Aden's gums.

Best Buddies

OK- Aden is usually not this sober! He just gets so serious when the camera comes out! Andrew looks so jolly and happy he makes him look even more somber!

Finally Aden smiles and it is the one shot Andrew isn't smiling his head off! Come on, Aden!

Maybe Aden is mad because he had to hold the pink bunny and Andrew got the blue bear!

I read somewhere that you should give the baby something to hold while eating, so I gave Aden this spoon. He knew exactly what to do with it, but he kept looking at it as if to say, 'where's the food that is always on Mom's spoon?' The spoon is not keeping his hands out of his mouth and the food. He will be the king of food fights!

I said no new tricks, but Andrew does have a new trick. He likes to pick up his paci and put it in himself. He pulls it out, looks at it and puts it back in. He doesn't usually get it in straight and it looks a lot funnier in person. Looks like some of you just might get to see these two in person soon. Stay tuned!

Sweet Potato Faces

Andrew and Aden are slowly expanding their diet to include such exotic foods as sweet potatoes, pears, and bananas. They are my little eaters and at this point get excited about anything on the spoon. So excited they like to 'help' Mom get the food to their mouth. Their aim is just a little off- that's all!

Grandma and Grandpa Come for a Visit

We have enjoyed hosting Grandma and Grandpa for the last few days. We've even managed to get out and about and have a few adventures. Everything from finding the Fremont bridge troll to tracking down distant cousins. (Those are separate and distinct adventures! )

We are so glad they came to visit and play. It's crazy how fast 6 days can go by! We can't wait until they come back to visit again or we get to go visit them.

Gabli Boys Out and About

Who said Seattle is always rainy? We are enjoying some beautiful spring weather here. Nice days to go for some stroller rides!

Here are the boys on their first forward-facing stroller ride.

Aden had the front seat and was holding on to the sides for dear life. So funny to watch. Even though that first ride was scary, it was exhilarating. Kind of like their first roller coaster ride. They really enjoy getting out, and it seems to tire them out.

We decided it was time to try some cereal. They are already 'getting it' after 3 days. The first day was an unbelievable mess- too messy to pick up the camera! Yesterday Dad was home, so he played photographer.

The boys increasingly interact with each other. In the morning they like to tell each other good morning and give each other the biggest grins. I usually put them in the crib together for a little while to entertain each other. For the first time this morning I was concerned that someone was going to come away hurt and crying- (probably Andrew). Aden had Andrew in a headlock and was determined to put his head in his mouth. Tonight I gave Andrew the advantage in the wrestling match (that's pronounced 'rassling' by the way). Andrew may have the size advantage, but Aden makes up for it in attitude. I am sure this is the first scrap of many!

We still spend most of our day lounging on the colorful quilt or shopping with Mom. Andrew is now rolling over front to back and Aden loves to show off his back to front roll.

Come on spring! In the meantime we will practice on our mobility and overall cuteness.

Thing 1 and Thing 2 are Four Months Old

Happy Four Months old Aden and Andrew!

Phew! That was fast. Aden is now a 14 pounder and Andrew is a 15 pounder.


They are so sweet and cute.

Aden is such a mad scientist. He is always doing something to see what will happen. Right now he is in his swing and kicking his legs for all he's worth and it is making the swing jerk around a little. As far as I can tell that is the only reason he is doing it- crazy little baby. Andrew is taking it easy trying to fight going to sleep. They both are big into hand play now and if they are close enough to touch each other, they will try to grab each other's hands and put them in their mouth. Pretty funny to see them interacting with each other.

Larry Lintfingers and Sir Grabsalot: World Travelers

Andrew and Aden took Mom and Dad to the post office yesterday and applied for passports. Here are their mug shots.


I swear I took 200 pictures of Aden and this was the best one. I think this is maybe the 3rd shot I took of Andrew. So Aden when you get to be about 10 years old and want to know why your passport picture looks like this- it's your own fault!

The boys are both loving to grab onto pretty much anything. And they try to get it in their mouths, but that takes a LOT of coordination. I am pretty sure Andrew is well on his way to getting some teeth. We've had a couple of pretty fussy days this last week. And I think I see something in there- maybe it's a mirage? I don't think Aden is far behind either.

Aden is the king of his exersaucer. One of his favorite tricks is to lean forward and 'fly'. He is definitely a character.

Andrew is still the jabber jaws of the house- well, except for Paul. And as long as he feels good, he is a jolly, happy soul. When he wakes up in the morning, he serenades Mom until he's serious about getting out of his crib. When Aden wakes up, he flips and flops around and snorts and grunts- it's quite a process! When he's done waking up, he's all toothless grin and ready to go.

Aden is also just on the verge of rolling over from his back to front. He does this back bend arch thing, and gets close, then his foot usually slips.

All in all we are having a grand old time at the Gabli house!

Long Overdue Post

Well, hello everyone out there in cyberspace. Happy New Year! I did not forget you- just sometimes it's a little busy around here!

3 months old- Wow- already?! Vital Statistics: Andrew weighed in at 13 lbs 15 oz and Aden at 12 lbs 9 oz. They are both 25 1/2 inches long. Aden is all arms and legs and he moves them around constantly. Andrew is our talker. He gets that from both sides! Sometimes he goes down at night babbling and wakes up babbling. We know he says 'Hi!' but he doesn't know! Aden talks too, but is a little more reserved. They both love to laugh and smile and they think Mom and Dad are HILARIOUS! They love to hear us sing songs and really like it if we move their arms and legs along, or use their tummies for a drum.

Christmas-

We had a really nice small Christmas. Trying to get the video into a manageable piece has been a challenge and the hold-up. I finally gave up on waiting on myself. Not for lack of trying- just what I'm trying isn't working like I want. Anyway, Santa brought Aden and Andrew some Exersaucers that they are not quite big enough for and they got plenty of presents and a big deposit for their savings account. They will soon be big enough for the Exersaucers though as Aden can sit up quite well by himself for a few moments before toppling over. Andrew just a few seconds, but they both get better everyday.

Aden loves to stand and be upright, he wants to know what's going on.

Andrew isn't quite there yet, but he will talk your ear off!

They are both just cute as can be and such good babies. We truly are blessed.

This weekend the boys went out for the first time on their own.

They stayed at Gary and Bev's while Mom and Dad went out to dinner with the SNOMOMs (Snohomish County Mothers of Multiples). Everyone had a really good time!

They are getting wise to the camera and it is much harder to catch them smiling- hopefully they will get over this quickly!

Better hurry and publish or they will be four months old before I get it done!
